The market for educational services in the post-Soviet space is well developed and competition is high. At the same time, there remains a demand for innovative educational methods associated with active and interactive learning. Training is a method of active learning aimed at developing knowledge, skills, abilities and social attitudes.

When starting a business in the education market, you need to be aware that the boom in the training market has passed. The services of business trainers and psychological trainers are quite expensive; not only private clients, but also corporate clients are often not ready to pay for them. The demand for training in the capital and in the provinces are two big differences. In megacities, the market for training services has long been mastered, structured and tested. In provincial cities with low incomes and depressed economies, there is virtually no demand for the services of business coaches.

Basic approaches to organizing the activities of a training center

There are three main schemes for organizing training activities.

The simplest scheme for organizing a business in this area is to open an agency that would select the target audience for freelance trainers. In this case, costs are required for registering an individual entrepreneur, renting premises, and advertising. The trainers' salaries are paid directly by the customer, and the source of income for the created agency is commissions. It can be stated that the risk in such a business is minimal, but it is difficult to count on a high income.

This scheme is good for starting a business: it will allow you to assess the demand for such services in the region, choose the type of training for further specialization (skill, psychotherapeutic, socio-psychological, business training), and assess the possibilities of post-training support for participants.

Having tried the services of a training agency and made sure that the demand for services is stable, you can think about opening a company of a new level: a specialized center for conducting business training with a staff of trainers and unique proprietary training methods, which, by the way, are in short supply in our market. It is almost impossible to conduct trainings of all types with the same quality; specialization is necessary.

It should be noted that banks, large industrial and commercial enterprises, and IT companies often resort to the services of trainers in a specialized center. That is, business training from the point of view of the marketing policy of what is being created is clearly preferable, for example, to personal growth training. By the way, in recent years there has been a noticeable drop in the popularity of personal growth training.

In addition to some disappointment in their effectiveness, one must take into account the specifics of the Russian mentality. If in the West personal growth trainings are popular, attending them in training centers is fashionable and quite natural, then the Russian average person is far from paying a tidy sum for a public discussion of the problems of his personal space. Therefore, business training will definitely be more profitable.

So, we will open a Business Training Center. Business trainings develop the skills and abilities necessary for success in business (the ability to work in a team, communicate with customers, negotiate). The staff has 3 trainers with a salary of 500-1000 dollars per month and training and support staff (2 people) who organize each specific training.

It is advisable to open a training center on the basis of a boarding house or educational institution. In the first case, a number of issues with accommodation, meals, and free parking will be resolved, which will make it possible to invite teams from other cities to the training.

The educational institution also provides a number of advantages: classrooms are ready with modern boards, multimedia projectors and the ability to conduct online conferences, there is a fleet of computers. At the same time, it will be necessary to additionally resolve the issue of accommodation and meals for participants who arrived for the training from other localities.

The costs of doing business will include rent, trainers' salaries, maintenance staff salaries, and office equipment. In addition to its main activities, such a company can also engage in mediation in the training market, finance the development and testing of new training programs, and invite foreign business trainers. It is possible to open a center for conducting training directly at enterprises: it will provide not only a classroom, but also a training ground for the development of practical skills.

So, in order to study the features of this business, let’s consider the main stages and key points. We will describe the types of training centers and provide criteria for successful earnings. We will also make approximate financial calculations of all expenses and income.

Almost every modern person at different ages thinks about the need to attend various educational institutions. This is due to many reasons that are especially familiar to the residents of our country. Often the need for education is associated with obtaining a new specialty for the purpose of further employment. In addition, many people want to study this or that area for their own development and to obtain newer information that will allow them to look at the world in a new way. It is no secret that standard education sometimes simply does not provide all the necessary skills or knowledge. As a result, a person has to use the services of a variety of training centers offering high-quality educational services in one or another area of activity.

By improving their own qualifications and improving various skills, people discover new horizons for themselves and gain new opportunities for earning money. It is natural that quality education is rightfully considered a good investment in a prosperous future and financial stability. Having a coveted certificate or diploma is a very big plus in any person’s track record, because it, at a minimum, speaks of his comprehensive development and earns the respect of others. The presence of such documents in the hands of an entrepreneur develops customer loyalty and, as a result, allows for larger transactions. In fact, when working with tenders this can sometimes play a key role.

Of course, the number of training centers in Russia is constantly growing, but in general this market is quite free. Even in the largest cities there are very few such institutions. It is important to understand that most of them offer a variety of services, which allows the client to choose one or several areas to develop. Naturally, many clients come to study again to improve their qualifications or, for example, to obtain another specialty. Given such a high demand, many entrepreneurs are naturally thinking about the possibility of opening their own training center.

At the moment, training centers offering short-term educational courses are considered the most profitable, since in a short period of time each person can obtain all the necessary skills and knowledge that will be useful in the process of work. Based on this, we will consider opening an appropriate training center.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any other business, this area of entrepreneurial activity has its pros and cons. In this regard, before starting work, it is recommended to carefully study all the features of the training center, so as not to encounter serious mistakes and not lose profit. The positive aspects of this business include:

  • high level of profitability, which can sometimes reach up to thirty percent;
  • quick payback period, since with proper organization and management of business, you can count on a return on all invested funds literally after six months of successful work;
  • high demand for services, and the demand increases every year, therefore, if the level of courses provided is high, and the teachers are experienced and highly qualified, the training center will always be filled with clients;
  • the initial investment is low, so even a novice businessman who does not have significant capital can engage in this activity;
  • the ability to quickly reorient activities, since with the availability of training programs and well-established work, new directions for training can be successfully opened at any time.

The disadvantages of this work include the fact that you will have to look for reliable and highly qualified specialists. Company employees must have the necessary knowledge, since they will be required to provide quality training. To attract excellent teachers, high salaries are set for them, but this is not always possible in the first stages of a new training center.

Depending on the number of potential clients, the cost of educational services can be quite low. For example, prices can be low in small cities, but in cities with a population of over a million they can be relatively high. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the presence of competition so that they are not within walking distance and do not provide similar services.

Like many other types of business, the performance of the training center is directly affected by financial crises and the unstable situation in the country - this is due to the fact that with lower wages and increased prices, people will spend money only on essential things.

Of course, it is necessary to provide here for the possibility of additional investments that may be required in the course of further work. Moreover, it will no longer be possible to simply close the training center, because people usually pay for training in advance (by the way, it is possible to provide for payment in installments, if necessary). That is, you need to understand that a sudden suspension of such a business can lead to serious problems. So it is imperative to foresee how and in what manner the closure of the training center will be possible, so that you can insure yourself in advance.

Concept and direction of work

Before opening this institution, it is important to decide what services will be provided there, and you also need to identify the type of concept of the training center. This directly determines which workers need to be hired to provide certain educational services. In other words, you need to decide on the specializations in which the training center will operate. As statistics show, the following areas are considered the most popular today:

  • courses for marketers;
  • studying various accounting programs;
  • courses for managers and for people of other professions (it is possible to study highly specialized areas, for example, exclusively blue-collar professions);
  • educational programs for aspiring entrepreneurs, giving them complete information about starting and running a business.

At the first stages of work, it is advisable to choose only a few of the most popular areas, which are either not provided at all by other similar organizations in the city, or these services are already provided by them, but at a fairly low level. Again, pricing matters. Perhaps it makes sense to offer more favorable prices and the shortest possible training periods. This will attract a fairly large number of potential clients to the new training center.

Once we have decided on the direction, the development of a special concept begins. The latter, in turn, must differ significantly from the operating features of the company’s main competitors, otherwise it may affect profits (we have already discussed this above). Of course, the effectiveness of its work as a whole depends on the concept of the training center. There are many different directions from which you need to choose the most suitable option:

A full-fledged training center in which clients are offered a huge number of educational services - here they may be given the opportunity to undergo training for assistants or designers, accountants, tax agents, as well as other specialists (that is, knowledge here can be given not only to beginners, but also to clients with practical experience);

An authorized center, which usually concentrates on studying a variety of computer programs, without which it is impossible to imagine working in a particular field of activity (1C, AutoCAD, CorelDraw and the like);

Education in the form of trainings, ensuring the acquisition of not only certain knowledge, but also a positive attitude towards future activities (personal growth training, seminars on business, design and other training options);

Original courses that are not offered in other similar educational institutions in a particular city, and before offering them, a market analysis should be carried out in advance to determine whether there is a need for them, since often there is no demand for specific courses at all;

Conducting individual lessons in various subjects - this includes preparing schoolchildren for various exams, and it can also be working with students in a specific course in which they have problems.

Of course, the choice here depends entirely on the desires and capabilities of the entrepreneur. You may want to offer some new direction - there is nothing wrong with that, however, it is important that the unique training center is in demand among the local population. As practice shows, at the initial stages of work it is better to follow proven paths, which allow us to speak almost accurately about the potential demand for a particular type of service.

Separately, we can say about the selection of suitable specialists. In fact, this question is not a problem, because higher education diplomas are not always needed to work in a private training center. Moreover, the quality of the knowledge gained is of greater importance here than just the standard “reading” of the subject, as is often the case in ordinary educational institutions. That is, the client here often wants to get exactly the result, and not just a diploma or certificate. Considering that many Russian teachers are dissatisfied with their salaries, a business owner here can offer them more favorable working conditions. In addition, if possible, you can pay teachers for overtime, as well as introduce additional classes for everyone. Thus, there are quite wide opportunities for earning money here, so they can be used to their full extent.

Selecting a room

It was not for nothing that we pointed out this point at the very beginning, because to register an LLC, a company requires a legal address. It should be noted that a lot of attention is paid to this point, since it is important that the premises comply with numerous conditions of current legislation. If there are four specializations, then at least four classrooms are required, respectively. Additionally, an office is created for the director and accountant. The most comfortable hall is being created. If possible, a locker room and other additional spaces can be arranged.

Actually, the choice of premises is, perhaps, even the main issue, because today educational institutions should open in the most suitable places. Probably, the optimal solution is to rent several premises in a university or school, since in this case the entire site fully complies with the conditions and requirements that apply to modern educational institutions.

Equipment purchase

To provide educational services, you will most likely need to purchase a projector (or a large plasma panel) and tables and chairs. Computers and other equipment are also purchased that will ensure simplicity and convenience of the educational process. Teachers must have modern and relevant educational literature at their disposal, which also costs some money.

Business registration

Having carefully prepared for the opening, you can start preparing the documents. Work is only allowed officially, so business registration must be carried out. For this purpose, a legal entity is selected, since it will be important to further obtain a license to carry out educational activities - this is only possible when registering an LLC.

It is also worth considering that when registering a business, it is indicated in OKVED that the company will act as a non-state educational institution. In fact, it is recommended to indicate this status in all further contracts with clients, so that they do not have relevant questions.

As for the taxation system, in this case the simplified tax system is chosen, in which six percent is charged on the entire income of the company. By the way, to resolve such issues, it is also recommended to employ an accountant who can work both on a permanent and temporary basis (for example, on outsourcing).

An important point in registration is obtaining a license, without which it is prohibited to provide educational services. This document can be obtained from the Special Education Committee. For this, the following papers are prepared:

  • special educational programs are being developed for which training will be provided;
  • a statement is created indicating the list of the above educational programs, and the document also indicates other important facts about the new educational center;
  • information about staffing levels is indicated, so you will have to start looking for teachers in advance;
  • the maximum number of students who will be provided with services at the training center is calculated;
  • documents are provided on the ownership or lease of the premises in which the work will be carried out, and it must fully comply with numerous requirements for fire safety, lighting, sanitary conditions and other factors;
  • information is provided on the availability of specialized documents and books that act as a material and technical base used in the learning process;
  • other information is indicated as necessary.

The written application with other documents is considered by the Committee within one month, and during this time it is strictly prohibited to work. It is allowed to open a training center only after receiving all the necessary documentation in hand.

Personnel search

Another important point when opening a training center is the recruitment of teachers. As mentioned above, their qualifications, experience and education completely depend on the direction in which the training center itself operates. The number of teachers also directly depends on the specifics of the educational center. As a rule, at the very beginning of the activity, about four different courses are selected, for each of which one teacher is hired. With the growing demand for the institution, the number of courses, and, accordingly, hired workers, can be increased.

Additionally, the staff must have a secretary who is responsible for preparing classes and communicating with potential clients, as well as an accountant who is responsible for preparing reports and calculating taxes.

Attracting clients

For a training center to generate high profits, it is important that the number of clients is large, and that the classrooms are not empty from 9:00 to 21:00. In this case, you should attract customers in different ways. For such purposes, leaflets are used that are distributed in various organizations and enterprises (possibly even specialized ones). Naturally, advertising is done on local television and their own website is created, on which each visitor can find all the information he needs about the training center.

Financial calculations

So, having dealt with the main organizational issues, let’s calculate the approximate costs required to start a business. To open a training center you will need 765 thousand rubles, of which:

  • registering a business and obtaining a license – 40,000 rubles;
  • rent of premises for a month – 55,000 rubles;
  • purchase of equipment and literature for work – 350,000 rubles;
  • advertising and other measures to attract customers – 30,000;
  • employee salary per month – 250,000;
  • other expenses (for example, repairs or purchase of additional equipment) – 40,000.

As practice shows, the total income per month when training one hundred people is approximately 500 thousand rubles. The net profit in this case is 110 thousand rubles. Thus, all investments will pay off here in about eight months of work. At the same time, if the number of students increases and the number of subjects taught increases, then the profit from the activity will naturally increase.

Conclusion

If you approach the issue thoroughly, then opening a training center will not be a particular problem. In addition, it can work for quite a long time. There is virtually no investment required, and the average cost of training can be quite high. Today, any sane person is ready to invest good money in their education, because without this it is impossible to imagine comprehensive development. At the same time, the training center itself can develop. As we said earlier, you can gradually introduce new directions and offer different training options to your clients. If the results are positive, the number of students will definitely grow, because here people will come based on recommendations and the entrepreneur is required to competently organize the educational process. Of course, it will be very good if you have previously worked in this field, but in general, you can successfully run such a business without any practical experience. In the end, the main work here is usually done by teachers, and a more experienced specialist can always be appointed to the position of manager.

Over the past ten years, Western companies have accustomed the market to international corporate standards. Among other innovations brought from the West are business trainings. In the 2000s, domestic companies began to readily use this format of employee training. Today, the market for such services is far from saturated, and both Moscow and cities with a population of over a million are in dire need of professional training companies.

Nowadays, any large company is trying to invest in the development of its subordinates.

And trainings are one of the tools for motivating and retaining employees. And with today’s shortage of specialists in Moscow, this is becoming an urgent task for an increasing number of employers.

A paradoxical situation has developed in the capital’s training market: more than 1 thousand trainers are currently working in Moscow, while the market is experiencing an acute shortage of highly professional services in this area.

This is due to the fact that small and weak companies occupy a significant place in the market.

Judge for yourself: there are more than 500 training companies operating in Moscow, with from two to three to 50 trainers on staff. But there are no more than ten large and universal ones. Therefore, if you can create a company that offers quality training (programs) and consistent quality, you can find a place in the market. For example, we grew to a company with a staff of 50 people and a turnover of $5 million in seven years. Now, with proper organization of work, such indicators can be achieved in just three to four years. Go for it! Investments

I have a feeling that today most training companies are created without any money at all. Such “budget” companies work approximately according to the following scheme: they sell training in all areas (management, project management, sales, purchasing, finance - whatever), once they have sold it, they immediately begin to look on the market or in their database for a freelance trainer who can conduct training on the topics sold (such companies, as a rule, have few programs and trainers of their own).

With this scheme, the investment is truly minimal.

In fact, these are not even training companies, but intermediary platforms.

In my opinion, such agencies are uncompetitive in the future. Customers know that they invite freelancers.

How to open your own business

If so, it’s easier to invite a freelancer directly than to overpay an intermediary company by two or three times.

Creating a truly professional company with a large staff of trainers (not freelancers!) and stable service is a rather expensive project.

Let's start with employee costs. It is difficult to find a high-level trainer with real business experience for a salary of less than $4 thousand. Accordingly, the coach’s annual salary will be at least $50 thousand.

The optimal number of trainers for a company focused on long-term work is no less than 20. As a result, $1 million will be required for annual salaries alone.

That's not all. A serious company definitely needs a representative office, category no lower than B+. For 20 trainers and 20 back office people you will need at least 300–400 sq. m.

That's another $150-200 thousand a year in rent.

The third expense item is equipment. Each coach gets a laptop, a video camera with a tripod, plus one projector for two or three coaches. This is about $80 thousand more at the first stage.

From my own experience I will say: taking into account these expenses, in-house production (prepares handouts for trainers), organizing an office, paying for mobile phones and the Internet, etc., it is almost impossible to keep it to less than $1.5 million.

Don't count on banks.

Banks do not understand the training market, this area is completely incomprehensible to them, so they prefer not to take risks.

Concept

If you are interested in a low-cost, but also unpromising business with freelance trainers, I cannot give any recommendations. If you are closer to the option of creating a serious training company, you will have to think about its concept. I’ll say right away: working in the low price segment ($1.5 thousand per training day) is not interesting. You will have to look for ways to minimize costs, and this is only possible by hiring “budget” trainers, using standard or even mediocre programs, low-quality handouts, etc. The quality will also be of the economy category. A more interesting niche is from $2.5 thousand and above.

It turns out that it is difficult to count on success with a standard training agency - there are hundreds of them, and against their background a potential customer is unlikely to notice you. In my opinion, the most promising formats today are a “training boutique” or a network agency.

The concept of the first is to gather several (up to ten) superstars, preferably people from business who have reached significant career heights there, or experienced trainers-consultants with a name in the market. Having such resources, you will be able, firstly, not just to conduct one-time trainings, but to work with customers on a long-term basis, for example, to develop employee training concepts for them. Secondly, having very high-class practitioners on staff, you will be able to take on clients of the same high level - top managers.

And working with this audience is paid higher than with middle management. Thirdly, with high-level specialists, the company can take on non-standard projects.

It is also a higher paying product. In my opinion, there are only a few such companies on the Russian market today.

A network project, on the contrary, should work in the middle price segment and with middle management. But compared to competitors working in the same field, it can stand out due to its standardization, and therefore predictable quality of services. I think with this concept it’s easier to reach large customers. It is easy to replicate such a company in several regions at once, because there are common standards, common programs, etc. The customer will know that in Moscow, Almaty, and Kyiv his employees will be trained in the same way. This is very important for them.

Staff

Do not repeat the mistakes of others - do not select employees based on whether they have a psychological education or not. The fact that a coach must be a certified psychologist is a purely Russian delusion. Training is not treatment, but the development of professional skills.

In the West, there are no trainers under 35 years of age, and most of them are people who have reached a high level in business.

What do we have? Imagine: a 23-year-old girl, a certified psychologist, conducts training on project management for project managers. The fact that she has no practical knowledge will become clear to the student participants of the training in the third word. The credibility of the trainer is zero, the effectiveness of the training is zero. What are the prospects for such a company? As I already said, in my opinion, the best option for a start-up company is to attract specialists from real business to its staff.

Ideal - those who worked in a large Western company in management positions or in the training and development department.

It is almost impossible to invite a freelance star. A good specialist of this profile can earn $10–15 thousand per month. He is not interested in going for a fixed salary. But it’s quite easy to find and interest “personnel officers” from large companies in cooperation. Many of them are already tight within their positions in their companies. Moreover, many of them dream of creating their own training projects, but are afraid to do something on their own, as they are used to being hired employees.

But people with such experience know all the needs of your potential clients! In a word, look. In most cases, the specialists you need occupy the position of either HR director or training and development manager. A training and development manager can be lured from a large company for $4–5 thousand, an HR director for $7–12 thousand.

Promotion

Perhaps the biggest difficulty in the training market is reaching a large, interesting client. There are no standards or criteria in the trainings by which the effectiveness of the training company could be checked. Therefore, HR directors, who in large companies are responsible for large training budgets, work only on recommendations.

Spamming is completely ineffective. In addition, most companies form budgets in advance, for example, for the next year the budget is formed in the fall of the previous one. Therefore, if you created a company in the second half of the year, there is practically no chance of finding customers for this year.

Do this: start hiring people in the summer, start training them in the fall, and in the meantime, sign contracts for next year. If you do both tasks well, there is a chance that by the middle of next year the company will start making its first money.

For most newbies, taking their first steps in the market is terribly difficult. On average, in order not to “wear out”, it is advisable for a trainer to work no more than 100–120 days a year. But, as a rule, at first, due to the company’s poor popularity, narrow customer base, etc.

Trainers in new companies are employed no more than 40–50 days a year. Be prepared, this slow development will continue for the first year or two.

Clients

If you are planning to create a large company with long-term prospects, you should look for clients with an annual turnover of at least $50 million. It is interesting to work with those companies whose contract value is $100 thousand or more. Smaller companies, firstly, do not have sufficient training budgets, and secondly, they do not need high-quality trainers as urgently as leading companies. And development-oriented companies spend about 1% of their turnover on training. Accordingly, a corporation with a turnover of $300–400 million spends an average of $1–3 million on training and development of employees. Newcomers always face a dilemma: focus on Russian companies or “Westerners.”

There is no clear answer.

The advantage of foreign companies is that they clearly know what they want to get from the training. They have successful training practices from other markets, and they clearly understand who, what, when and for how long to teach. If you give them a high-quality product that meets their standards, you will be able to cooperate successfully and, most importantly, for a long time.

But they have their own characteristics: many companies have their own international standards that must be strictly adhered to, which reduces the level of creativity of trainers.

It is sometimes more difficult to negotiate with Russian companies; they often do not have a clear understanding of what they want from training in general. But domestic customers are ready to order non-standard and complex projects, which are often much more profitable. And most importantly, such projects allow us to develop coaches and programs.

In any case, it is worth concentrating either on Moscow or on key cities with a population of over a million: St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk.

When choosing a geography, be guided by one criterion: whether there are decision-making centers in this city (either head offices or regional offices of federal companies). At the moment, it makes no sense to go to smaller cities.

Payback

Don't expect big earnings right away. Most new companies end their first year with zero profit. The main reason, as I already said, is the difficulty in finding large clients. If you have not entered the top ten largest training agencies in Russia in two years, there is no reason to consider the project a failure.

If your client base is not growing at all, try showing yourself at one of the specialized events. In my opinion, the most effective are the Trainings and “Personnel” exhibitions.

It is better to evaluate the company's performance in the second year. The main evaluation criteria are: does the company have its own portfolio of programs, do customers recommend at least half of the company’s trainers to other potential customers and, finally, whether there are at least 10–15 clients who are ready to continue working with you next year. If after two years this is still not the case, perhaps the project is worth selling.

Although, since the main asset of a training company is its trainers, it is very difficult to sell it. For example, we are interested in buying a company that has two or three strong specialists in a highly specialized topic and eight to ten programs on it. But buying without people is not interesting. After all, the program can be bought in the West. Therefore, leading companies are ready to buy companies with stars, provided that they work in the company for at least two more years.

Business plan for an educational center

The development and implementation of a profitable business project is always associated with certain tasks and difficulties that must be completed and resolved on time and according to a specific plan. It is no secret that the main goal of any entrepreneurial activity is to make a profit; it is its size that measures the social and professional status of the entrepreneur and the significance of the project. You can get the desired profit through a well-structured, effective work process.

In order for the financial indicators of the project to be sufficiently high, in addition to the original business idea, resources for its implementation, support from partners, etc. A clear work plan, built in accordance with goals and objectives, is required.

In this article we will look at the step-by-step process of developing and implementing a business plan for creating a technical training center.

It should be noted that this process occurs under the following conditions:

■highly competitive business environment;

■availability of advanced client-users;

■limited material (finance) and intangible (people) resources.

The development of a business plan begins with formulating the main idea of the project, and more broadly, defining the company’s mission in the market. In our case, the general concept of the project may look like this: creation of a single corporate information and educational resource in key areas of technical training; this project is intended for corporate clients, key partners, users who receive knowledge in the format of open trainings; The ultimate goal is to establish effective intra- and international communication and encourage partners to cooperate and interact with the company and its affiliates.

Training is a process aimed at closing the gap between what an employee knows and what he needs to know and be able to do in order to perform productive work.

An effective system of professional training of personnel is the key to their further competent and qualified work, which, in turn, guarantees the achievement of the company’s goals. Since highly qualified personnel is one of the key factors of a company's competitiveness, it is impossible to overestimate the importance of the employee training process.

The strategic priorities of the project should first of all include financial success, social relevance (through the formation of a positive image of the educational service provider), the search for new business partners and strengthening ties with existing ones.

According to what criteria will we determine the effectiveness of the project?

First of all, this is the material satisfaction of the investor (project customer). Do not forget about the material satisfaction of the performers of the work - members of the project team, who receive payment for their work, additional remuneration based on the results of the project and, among other things, improve their professional level.

How to create your own training business from scratch

In addition, it is necessary to mention the benefits for the state, which receives in the person of customers and performers good taxpayers, and in the person of the educational center - an assistant in improving the technical literacy of specialists, including those working in state-owned enterprises.

Thus, we can formulate the following main goals for the presence of a training center on the market:

1)receiving an annual net profit of 30% of the initial costs;

2) capturing a share of the educational services market (35-40%);

3) systematic improvement of the quality of services provided.

ANALYSIS OF THE MARKET FOR EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

The market for educational services in the Republic of Kazakhstan is currently in its infancy, as evidenced by the following characteristics:

■unguaranteed quality of education;

■lack of publicity of companies and services provided;

■weak post-training support, insufficient control during the client’s step-by-step training.

When we talk about technical training, we mean training specialists in the field of software and system hardware.

The main areas that large training centers in Kazakhstan implement are training in working with Microsoft software products and the transfer of knowledge and skills necessary for installing and configuring Cisco equipment and troubleshooting in small business networks. The acquired skills and abilities will allow students to configure switches, routers, maintain a connection between the branch network and the Global Network, and ensure security in the administered network.

All training centers adhere to approximately the same pricing policy; the differences in the cost of center services are insignificant. The main advantage of the center that is planned to be created as part of the project is full authorization of courses, highly qualified coaching staff, and a positive image. Conducting a SWOT analysis will help us gain a more complete understanding of the competitive environment in which we are implementing our project. In Fig. 1-4 present the results of an analysis of several competing centers (companies A, B, C and D). Note that the opportunities and threats for all companies in this case are the same.

CONCEPT OF BRINGING THE TRAINING CENTER TO THE MARKET

Description of service

At the moment, the field of information technology is a highly dynamic, constantly developing industry. Accordingly, increasingly high demands are placed on personnel working in this area. The competence of a company's employees is one of the main conditions for its competitiveness. Thus, technical training of personnel is an important strategic direction in working with personnel.

Training Center X provides comprehensive training for IT specialists followed by certification tests.

A wide range of training areas in the field of information technology and system integration includes more than 300 authorized courses. Clients can undergo training at various levels (from basic to specialized) in the following areas: Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Linux, Sun Microsystems.

The training center has spacious premises equipped with modern technology, a large amount of laboratory and projection equipment.

The center's certified teachers have extensive practical experience. Most of the trainers previously held positions as engineers, developers, and administrators of projects of republican significance.

The main advantage of this training center is its CLSP status (full course authorization).

We list the main tasks that need to be solved as part of entering the market:

1) creating a positive image of the company - provider of educational services;

2) constant monitoring of the work of trainers;

3) constant control over the quality of handouts;

4) search for new connections, customers;

5) search for new directions in work and forms of service provision.

The management and staff of the center strive to ensure that the training offered is interesting and as useful as possible for students. This is achieved through the practical orientation of training, as well as original technologies and training programs.

Carrying out the learning process, the center’s specialists adhere to following principles:

■maintaining a high level of relevance of educational materials;

■recourse to the life experiences of participants;

■presence of feedback between the trainer and the participant;

■focus on real tasks in a real context.

The trainers of the training center use in their work a full arsenal of modern teaching methods (trainings, discussions, analysis of case studies and specific situations, modeling / role-playing games).

Contacting training center X promises clients obvious consumer benefits:

■high quality of the services provided;

■timely provision of services;

■high-quality service;

■relatively low price of the service;

■availability of a discount system.

This educational organization segments its target audience into four levels:

1) heads of technical departments, leading specialists;

2) company managers;

3) engineering and technical staff;

4) sales managers, HR managers.

What benefits does cooperation with the training center provide to corporate clients?

Firstly, the center can provide assistance and support to company employees in organizing effective work (technical and administrative

parts); secondly, to establish an exchange of ideas and experience in the field of specific technologies between the company and its partners through the introduction of interactive communication systems; thirdly, to create a personnel training system based on identifying the company’s needs and assessing the level of professional and personal development of employees. Finally, such cooperation stimulates managers’ desire for self-education and professional growth.

The creation of a unified educational system will allow the client company to choose the optimal strategy for personnel training, as well as

the most effective methods for its implementation (taking into account available resources).

Let us list the main goals of training center X as part of the promotion of the service (second half of 2010):

■introduce the service to the designated market;

■set average, competitive prices;

■carry out a broad PR campaign (in the media, through direct mailing);

■identify the main competitors, conduct a comparative analysis of training programs;

■form commercial offers for the target audience;

■train high-quality trainers.

To achieve your goals it is necessary:

1) develop a marketing activity plan;

2) find the optimal pricing method;

3) analyze the competitive situation in the market;

4) identify target market segments and calculate their capacity;

5) determine the most promising areas of training.

The training center's pricing policy pursues three main goals:

1) maintaining image;

2) obtaining maximum profit;

3) achieving the status of a leader in service quality.

Taking into account the listed goals, the organization must adhere to the strategy of “high quality - reasonable price”.

Initially, the training center can set prices for its services based on the price level in the market for educational services of a technical nature. The basic principle of pricing can be defined as “average costs + income” (charging a certain markup on the cost of goods). In the future, the scheme may be transformed under the influence of changes in the pricing policy of competitors (for example, price dumping by competitors). In addition, it is worth mentioning the possibility of providing discounts (3-10%) to regular customers.

Marketing activity plan

Marketing activity involves carrying out a set of activities, the cost of which should be calculated in advance. In table 1 shows one of the options for such a complex.

It is necessary to understand how effective cooperation with the media will be. Unfortunately, wide audience coverage always implies an extremely high cost of services that must be resorted to in the implementation of a marketing strategy (Table 2). Thus, as in the case of pricing, you need to find a middle ground where getting a tangible effect does not mean spending the entire marketing budget.

Based on the main characteristics of the service and the specifics of the consumer audience, we can conclude that the most appropriate methods of marketing activity will be cooperation with specialized magazines (placement of advertising, publication of PR materials) and the use of such a direct marketing tool as direct mail.

To promote a service to the market, it is necessary to use a set of marketing communications:

■sales promotion (various promotions, discounts for regular customers);

■personal sales.

Organizational structure of the training center

The total number of employees of the organization is ten people.

The head of the center performs the following functions:

■coordination of the organization’s work;

■building a system of relationships with clients;

■recruitment;

■monitoring, analysis and planning of the organization's activities.

The job responsibilities of an accountant at a training center are traditional:

■maintaining accounting and tax records in accordance with national standards and regulations in force in the given region;

■submission of tax and financial reporting to the relevant authorities and within the time limits established by current legislation.

The responsibilities of the center's trainers (four people: two trainers - Cisco direction, one trainer - Microsoft direction, one trainer - Oracle direction) include direct training of students and technical consulting of clients.

Training sales managers (two people) perform the following functions:

■establishing business connections;

■search for clients;

■maintaining a client base, contacts with customers (before training, post-training support);

■conclusion of agreements and contracts for training.

In addition, the staff includes a secretary and an administrator.

Main costs Rental of premises

For monthly training of 100-150 people in four shifts (morning, two afternoons, evening), you will need a room with a total area of 200 m2:

■two classrooms (50 m2 each);

■computer class (ten places equipped for work - 60 m2);

■reception room and director’s office (about 40 m2). Based on the rental cost of 1 m2 (on average

50 USD) we get: 200 x 50 = 10000 USD

Equipment and teaching aids

The required minimum will look like this:

■projection equipment - 1000 USD;

■15 computers - about 3000-3500 USD;

■20 tables - 1000 USD;

■cabinet - 100 USD;

■fax - 100 USD;

■copier - 200 USD;

■educational literature - 1000 USD

Total: about 7000 USD

Employee salaries

A significant part of the costs is the remuneration of training center personnel:

■manager: 2000 USD x 12 months = 24,000 USD;

■accountant: 600 USD x 12 months = 7200 USD;

■two sales managers ((400 cu + interest (10%)) x 12 months) x 2 = 10560 cu;

■trainers: ((600 USD + interest (5%)) x 12 months) x 4 = 29376 USD

Total: 71136 USD

Marketing activity

Taking into account the data presented in table. 1, the costs will be:

■for 1 month - 1500 USD;

■for 12 months - 18,000 USD

Formation of the overall project budget

A profitable group consists of ten people. At least ten groups must be assembled per month. As already noted, the main way to attract students is direct mail, advertising and PR in print media.

In table 3 presents the main budget items of the training center.

Project implementation plan (second half of 2010)

These components should be considered both individually and in conjunction, as an integral structure, the work of which is aimed at increasing the profitability of the organization. We hope that this article has, at least in general terms, familiarized the reader with the scheme for developing a project in the field of technical training and the main actions within the framework of its phased implementation.

Is it possible today to find a free niche in the training business in which you can earn a stable income? The answer is “yes”! And for this it is not necessary to invest millions; 80 thousand rubles is enough.

Today, the word “training” has begun to be heard in the information space so often that it seems to have already turned into white noise. Psychological training, business training, motivation training, sales training, personal growth, lead generation, team building, creativity - how many other different trainings have you heard or attended personally? It would seem that it is almost impossible to find a free niche for starting your own business through trainings - supposedly “author’s” methods wander from coach to coach, and all topics have been covered a long time ago. But it seems so only upon superficial examination.

Trainings in which the coach is not the main thing

As you know, the abundance of competitors in the market inevitably leads to the fact that the cost of the product ultimately decreases. Moreover, you and I live in an era when any information can be found and “absorbed” for free - if there is a desire. Sooner or later, most consumers will understand that for 90% of knowledge there is no need to pay in principle, and that what is served under the sauce of uniqueness and author's exclusivity is just mashed potatoes made from common free potatoes.

Increase sales without investment!

“1000 ideas” - 1000 ways to differentiate yourself from competitors and make any business unique. Professional kit for developing business ideas. Trending product 2019.

Another thing is personalized, individual information. The demand for it will never dry up. What is meant by personalized information? Imagine such training. 5 different personalities come to your training center at the same time. One of them is a 45-year-old woman who is in a state of midlife crisis. The relationship with her husband has reached a dead end, there is a career ceiling at work, and there are two children and elderly parents on her neck. The second client is a young man 25-27 years old who wants to open his own online store selling sports equipment, but does not know what strategy to choose for a startup. The third person is a man of about 55 years old, the head of his company, who wants to find new ways to unite his unexpectedly quarreling work team. Let's add to our contingent, for example, a young elegant lady, a fashion designer who has lost her inspiration somewhere, and another girl, a call center operator, whose boss urgently instructed her to increase sales 10 times. Now imagine that each client from this group was satisfied with the training and went home, if not with a ready-made solution to their problem, then at least with an answer to several questions that concern them or a plan of action. I can't believe it, don't I?

No matter how cliché it may sound, the whole secret is that all the right answers lie within ourselves. Even more, the role of a consultant or trainer is not only overrated, it is secondary. We can say that the best coach or psychologist is not so much the one who gives a lot of valuable advice, but the one who knows how to direct the client’s thoughts, reasoning and conclusions in the direction in which he himself will find the correct and suitable solutions for him personally. Moreover, for this he does not have to be at the same time a specialist in family relations, a guru in the field of fashion design, or have experience in cold sales. It is enough for him to know effective tools... to find answers to questions. Here we move on to the description of a new unique training methodology, the potential of which has largely not yet been revealed.

A technique that suits any request

Solving the question of how to increase the efficiency of the process of “searching for answers in oneself,” the company “1000 Ideas” developed a methodology of psychological sets of tips for various requests - problems of a family nature, self-development and self-knowledge, professional growth, opening and building a business, money and motivation, interpersonal relationships, building relationships in a team, promoting goods and services, developing creativity and many other topics. These universal sets were called psychological cards (not to be confused with fortune telling, tarot, etc.).

“How many maps did it take to create so that they could answer all the questions and solve all the problems?” - you ask. “Maybe the authors of the method opened their own file cabinet or created a new Internet?” Vice versa! The task was precisely not to create a new “Internet”. You will be surprised, but only 3 decks of 78 cards each were created. Despite such a seemingly insignificant volume, colossal work was done. The main work consisted in generalizing the “world experience”: fairy tales of various peoples of the world, mythology, repeating plots of classical works and all those patterns of behavior that lie in our unconscious nature. All professions, personality types and social roles with their inherent characteristics and traits were combined into basic archetypal characters, all options for action - into archetypal paths and strategies of action.

The specialists of the “1000 Ideas” company, being practicing medical psychologists, tried to make sure that each card gave the client a whole stream of associations with his own life and facilitated a quick search for answers to personal problems. Each card is a unique strategy, presented simultaneously in the form of textual advice, images, phraseological units, leading questions, techniques and techniques, and united by a common thought. Psychological maps turned out to be such a versatile tool for counseling and solving problems that the authors of the methodology developed more than 300 exercises for various requests, helping to achieve results in the shortest possible time, and the methodology itself became widespread throughout the country and abroad. Today, the geography of official partners of “1000 Ideas” already includes 22 cities in Russia and the CIS.

The coach's net profit is more than 100 thousand rubles.

The most important difference between a training business on psychological maps is the ability to start on your own, in an extremely short time (up to 1 month), with minimal investments of around 80 thousand rubles and with a powerful competitive advantage in your hands. 60 thousand rubles will be spent on teaching the methodology, and about 20 thousand more - on the purchase of the psychological cards themselves. The training takes place over eight days, six of which are devoted to mastering the methodology and two to creating and promoting your own business. Anyone who wants to start their own training business has two options - work as an independent consultant or open their own training center. Ready-made business plans are provided for both options. In the first case, upon achieving the sales plan, the entrepreneur can count on a net profit of about 125 thousand rubles, in the second - about 234-250 thousand rubles. If we are talking about independent consulting without creating a training center and hiring staff, the payback period is minimal and amounts to 1-2 months.

In both cases, the income part includes conducting group trainings, individual consultations (online and offline format), as well as the sale of psychological maps themselves to clients. Thanks to the implementation of psychological maps, business profitability increases significantly. Moreover, there is no need to sell cards to consultants - clients themselves ask for cards when they see the result. Naturally, official partners who have completed the “1000 Ideas” training course purchase cards at a discount. Another advantage is that consultants can provide their services to an unlimited number of clients, regardless of their location. For this purpose, the company has developed a special online service that allows you to work with electronic versions of psychological cards.

The expenditure portion of the main period of work consists of the costs of renting office space or a hall, purchasing psychological cards and consumables. According to the company’s experience, renting a suitable office for trainings costs between 8-12 thousand rubles per month. The most effective advertising tools are social networks and e-mail marketing. At the first stages, advertising costs for the activities of an independent consultant will not exceed 10 thousand rubles. The number of cards purchased will depend on the number of trainings conducted, while consumables only imply the purchase of office supplies, as well as sweets and drinks for coffee breaks. The advantage is that the company is directly interested in the success of its partners and the popularization of the methodology, and therefore they are provided with free centralized support.

Features of business: advantages and pitfalls

Of course, the main advantage of the training business with psychological maps is the breadth of application of the methodology. Partners of the “1000 Ideas” company use psychological maps in combination with their own knowledge and skills, adapting and improving the methodology for working with children, conducting fairy tale therapy, psychological consultations for women, aromatherapy, training for senior management, HR specialists, and sales specialists , marketers. Most of the company's partners, having mastered the technique of working with cards, create their own exercises to suit the requests of their clients. The peculiarity of working with cards is that no matter who the client is, seeing such an unusual and fascinating tool as psychological cards, he will be 100% involved in the work. This advantage, firstly, allows you to reduce the trainer’s “nervousness”, since the audience’s attention switches from him to the cards, and secondly, it forces the audience to work much more actively, giving live feedback. As a rule, all trainings with psychological maps are a productive dialogue between all participants.

Ready ideas for your business

Another advantage of consultations using psychological maps is the absence of legal barriers. You can start this business without licenses and even without the education of a psychologist. At the official level, there are no clear boundaries for psychological and consulting services, so many individuals register such businesses either as household services or according to OKVED codes related to consulting services for business. For example, 70.22 “Consulting on business and management issues,” 82.99 “Activities to provide other support services for business, not included in other groups.” In the case of registration as medical services (for medical psychologists), a license from the Ministry of Health and a medical education of a psychologist are required. The most convenient organizational and legal form of business is an individual entrepreneur, the tax rate is simplified (6% of income).

Of course, like any business, there are pitfalls. Consulting services are characterized by a high degree of uncertainty for the client, who cannot adequately evaluate the service before receiving it. In this regard, the need to collect a large number of attributes of “trust” increases significantly: certificates and diplomas, evidence of participation in various specialized events, and most importantly, a large number of positive reviews. Constant feedback from the client and maintaining a dialogue on social networks are required. Sometimes difficulties in relationships arise due to traditional attitudes, when the client thinks that “a service is when something is done for me, but definitely without my participation, which helps me save time or health.” In addition, there is also seasonality in psychological services with the greatest decline in the summer. Minimizing risks in this case involves holding the largest and most expensive events in the summer, the audience for which is pre-formed in the spring.

Ready ideas for your business

In any case, trainings and consultations with psychological maps have several undeniable benefits compared to conventional ones. Firstly, the technique is just being mastered, so there is no competition in the market. Secondly, it not only produces results, it is competitive. A person who has attended a training once, as a rule, either recommends it to his friends or purchases psychological cards for himself or as a gift to friends. Thirdly, this technique is understandable. Unlike most techniques, it does not operate with an array of Latin names alien to a person, but communicates with him in a language of associations, comparisons and metaphors that he understands and quickly wins him over. Finally, fourthly, the technique itself is perceived as a tool for everyday use. Having tried it in action, people trust it, which sets it apart from its competitors. Most users of psychological cards perceive them as a set of universal tips and purchase several sets for use at home and at work. And client trust, as we know, is an expensive thing.

The modern rhythm of life today dictates certain conditions that require a constant increase in the educational level to maintain competitiveness in the labor market.

Let's look at an article about how to open a training center and what is needed for this using the example of a business plan.

In this regard, short-term educational courses are especially popular - we will also look at what is needed to open training courses. Their main advantage is the concentration of necessary knowledge obtained in the shortest possible time.

Pros of this business

The educational business is currently very profitable for investors due to the following advantages:

  • high profitability (about 30%);
  • quick payback (0.5 – 1 year);
  • minimum starting investment (about $15 thousand)

The average monthly turnover for the training center is $10-15 thousand, and the price of a 40-hour course is about 3 thousand rubles.

How to open a training center - business plan

So, let's look at a brief example of a business plan for a training center for those who do not know how to open one.

The key to the success of the training center is a well-selected teaching staff. The problem of attracting students is solved by introducing new educational programs - these could be, for example, various exclusive courses for managers and marketers, developed by the center’s teachers themselves.

It is important that by using the option of opening a training center at any company, as an additional unit, or by renting a room for a certain number of hours at a college or university, you can significantly save on rent and equipment.

The concept of the establishment

Starting a business involves developing a special concept that allows the new center to stand out from its competitors. There can be many options; the following are examples:

  • a center with standard professional training courses: secretary-assistant, computer layout and design, accounting and taxation, etc.;
  • an authorized training center, for example, in working with certain computer programs.
  • training education;
  • original courses;
  • individual lessons on a special course.

Registration of a legal entity is carried out as a non-state educational institution. In this case, it is more convenient to choose a simplified tax system with payment of 6% of profit.

Recruitment

The staff consists of:

  • teachers (one for each course);
  • two or three consultants to determine the professional inclinations of students;
  • secretary;
  • accountant.

Salary costs average $300 per month for a consultant and accountant, $200 for a secretary. The teacher receives an hourly payment - about 200 rubles / hour.

Premises for a training center

The center, designed to train 100-150 people per month in four shifts, requires a room of 200 m2, including m2:

  • reception and director's office - 40;
  • two classes – 100;
  • computer class – 60.

Considering that rent for 1 m2 is $30, the total rental cost will cost $6 thousand per month.

Equipment

The minimum equipment required to open a training center includes, price in $:

  • projector – 1000;
  • tables (30 pcs.) – 1000;
  • chairs (20 pcs.) – 500;
  • computers (10 pcs.) – 3000-3500;
  • photocopier – 200;
  • fax – 100;
  • wardrobe – 100;
  • educational literature – 500.

Total: about $6,500.

Licensing

The legislation provides for licensing of educational activities. To obtain a license, the following documents must be submitted to the Education Committee:

  • a statement indicating the developed educational programs;
  • information on staffing levels, as well as the estimated number of students;
  • necessary information about the premises used for training;
  • information on the availability of the necessary literature for training and the material and technical base for conducting the educational process;
  • information about the teaching staff;
  • other information - about the founders, registration certificate, etc.

The submitted application is reviewed within a month.

Students – number and source of their enrollment

The profitability of the training center can be ensured by the presence of at least 100 students per month, studying 10 people in a group.

The bulk of students for training centers are found and attracted through advertising published in the media, the cost of which should be at least 10% of turnover (approximately $1000 per month).
