Yaroslavl Shipyard (YASZ). Yaroslavl Shipyard Yaroslavl Shipyard PJSC

In 2019, PJSC Yaroslavl Shipyard celebrates its centenary. Over the years, the enterprise has grown from a small lamp workshop into a large production of ships with an unlimited navigation area. YaSZ produces watercraft of various classes: from small maneuverable yachts to patrol boats and river tankers.

The first five-year plans

Yaroslavsky was created in the first revolutionary years at the facilities of a workshop that produced lamps. A convenient location on the banks of the Volga, the presence of qualified personnel, and attention from the authorities contributed to the development of large-scale production. In 1920 Yaroslavskaya built the first boat. In the pre-war years, the main products of YaSZ were speedboats, sea and river raiders, firefighting boats, postal boats, and diving boats.

During the Second World War, Yaroslavl shipbuilders assembled unique ships equipped with Katyusha class salvo launchers. They took part in the largest battle in human history - the Battle of Stalingrad. They helped liberate Ukraine, Belarus, and Western countries as part of the Danube and Dnieper flotillas.

Post-war development

Since the late 40s, a systematic reconstruction of the enterprise began with its transfer to the construction of sea vessels with an unlimited navigation area. In the mid-60s, the Yaroslavl Shipyard switched to producing new ship designs and until the beginning of the 90s, it submitted 12-14 orders annually.

In the 80s, another reconstruction of production facilities began, after which the volume of ship production was expected to almost double. But during the period of perestroika, funding almost stopped, orders froze on stocks, and the output of finished products fell. Now the company is completing the bulk of the orders placed at that time.

Characteristic

YaSZ is one of the oldest enterprises in the industry. Today it has the most modern equipment and highly qualified personnel to fulfill orders from the law enforcement agencies of the Navy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB of Russia and other consumers, including foreign ones. New projects that are the pride of Russian shipbuilding are traditionally developed here. Contacts of the Yaroslavl Shipyard: 150006, Russian Federation, Yaroslavl, st. Korabelnaya-1.

Technological base

Until the early 90s, YaSZ was a full-profile shipbuilding plant, that is, performing the entire range of shipbuilding work: from the preparation of sheet and profile products to the testing of finished orders. If you compare photos of the Yaroslavl Shipyard from different years, it is easy to see that the production area has decreased.

Today, a flexible scheme is used, taking into account economic feasibility. Contractors are hired to carry out certain work, and some equipment is purchased from third-party companies. We had to get rid of some of the capacity, while simultaneously expanding industry cooperation. However, the main production facilities have been preserved. These are the workshops:

  • pipe;
  • assembly and welding;
  • slipway and outfitting;
  • mechanical;
  • procurement section of hull production.

Production capacity

The Yaroslavl Shipyard is equipped with a slipway with a length of 190 m, which has two platforms for the construction of hulls up to 12 m wide. There is also an open slipway where hulls up to 16 m are assembled. With the help of a longitudinal launching device, ships reaching a length of 75 m and weighing 1050 tons.

The plant has CNC gas-cutting plasma machines capable of cutting parts of complex shapes (up to 8 m in length) from high-strength steels. Capacities allow processing 4000 tons of steel and 500 tons of aluminum per year.

Guarding the Motherland

Traditionally, the main customers of the Yaroslavl Shipyard are law enforcement agencies, the Navy, naval units of the border troops, the FSB of Russia, the Federal Customs Service, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In 1997, the Yaroslavl Shipyard was chosen for the construction of border ships. The management was able to convince the commander of the border troops, Andrei Nikolaev, that the enterprise was capable of building ultra-modern ships. In fact, this saved production during the crisis years of the 90s. Among them are boats:

  • Missile project 1241RE;
  • amphibious projects “Chilim” (20910), “Bars” (14660);
  • airborne 21820;
  • IPC 1241-2;
  • PSKR projects 1241PE, “Svetlyak” (10410).

Border boat 12260

In a short time, YaSZ mastered the new project 12260 for patrolling. It was developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. Despite its small size, the boat is easy to operate, has excellent seaworthiness, enviable maneuverability, and high speed.

Specifications:

  • displacement - 9.7 tons;
  • width - 3 m;
  • overall length - 12.9 m;
  • Power reserve - 200-300 km;
  • speed over 40 knots.

Products

In addition to law enforcement agencies, YaSZ produces civilian products for Rosrybolovstvo, the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, and foreign customers. The following are collected on the stocks:

  • border guards of Project 12260 “Hawk”;
  • customs, high-speed patrol vessels;
  • fisheries protection ships;
  • river, sea, rescue tugs;
  • seiners-trawlers;
  • oil product tankers, bunker tankers;
  • yacht-catamarans of the Bylina, Otrada, Zabava series;
  • motor boats;
  • rescue, diving, drilling and other vessels.

Management is taking steps to revive production.

History of the Yaroslavl Shipyard

In 1919, the construction of boats began on the basis of a former lamp workshop. In 1920, the motor shipyard began operating and the first boat was launched. 1920 is considered the year of foundation of the Yaroslavl Shipyard.

In the pre-war years, the plant produced river and sea diving, raid, postal, fire boats, as well as gliders.

During the Great Patriotic War, the plant supplied the front with boats equipped with Katyusha rocket launchers. These boats took part in battles as part of the Dnepropetrovsk, Volga and Danube flotillas. In 1985, the plant was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, for its contribution to the victory.

Since the mid-50s, the plant, in addition to building ships and boats on orders from Russian shipowners, has supplied boats for export,

to Guinea, India, Somalia, Ghana, Vietnam, Algeria and Yemen.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, a large-scale reconstruction of the plant took place. He then produced about 12 - 14 vessels annually - from sea vessels to small boats (fishing, patrol, etc.) with a displacement of up to one and a half thousand tons.

In 1963 -1965. the plant supplied torpedo boats to the German Democratic Republic, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Yugoslavia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Cuba.

In addition, a series of river pusher tugs were supplied to Egypt for the construction of the Aswan hydroelectric dam.

In the 80s, sea tugs were built for Poland and Bulgaria.

Between 1989 and 1991, YaSZ built and delivered five small anti-submarine ships to India and Cuba.

In 1990-1991 the plant built two large missile boats for export to Romania.

In 1993, the company was transformed into an open joint-stock company.

In 1997, the Yaroslavl Shipyard was approved as the base enterprise for the construction of ships of the Federal Border Service of Russia. Its customers also include the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Customs Service, and foreign companies.

In 2004, two Project 12260 Yastreb patrol boats were delivered to Angola.

Since 2001, the plant has been constructing buildings with partial saturation for foreign customers.

Thus, from 2001 to 2005, 12 hulls of tugs and customs boats, built under the supervision of LRS and BV, as well as the hull of a 32-meter yacht, built under the supervision of RINA, were transferred to customers from Sweden and the Netherlands.

For a long time, the plant was the only builder of sea rescue tugs with a capacity of 3000 hp in Russia. With.

Of the civilian products, the majority of the ships produced by the plant were medium-sized freezer trawlers with various fishing methods, fishing and freezing equipment for fishing with trawls and longlines, as well as for catching crabs with traps and transporting them alive, for the production of canned cod liver and frozen fish after boiling crab claws, for processing fish with subsequent freezing in blocks, preparing minced meat or fillets.

In 2005, the plant came under the management of the company ZAO VP Finsudprom, which managed to provide financing for the completion of ships for commercial clients and the state, quickly resolve issues of working capital shortages, and also attract new customers in Russia and abroad. By 2010, production volume increased almost 2.5 times.

In recent years, YaSZ has mastered the construction of a new type of modern exclusive river motor yacht-catamarans. The first such vessel was launched in 2008. It was called "Otrada". In 2010, the modernized and improved yacht “Bylina” left the slipways of the Yaroslavl Shipyard, and in 2012 the third yacht in this series, “Zabava”.

Currently, the Yaroslavl Shipyard is a modern, stable enterprise that produces competitive products according to the latest designs, within generally accepted deadlines and with quality corresponding to the best European analogues.

An excerpt characterizing the Yaroslavl Shipyard

Bitter resentment bubbled up inside me, trying to spill out. I almost screamed, trying to reach his soul, but I felt that I was losing. There was no turning back. I didn't know if I would ever get there again, and I had to take every opportunity before I left.
- Look around, North! All over Europe your brothers and sisters are burning with living torches! Can you really sleep peacefully hearing their screams??? How can you not have bloody nightmares?!
His calm face was distorted by a grimace of pain:
– Don’t say that, Isidora! I have already explained to you - we should not interfere, we are not given such a right... We are guardians. We only protect KNOWLEDGE.
– Don’t you think that if you wait any longer, there will be no one to preserve your knowledge for?! – I exclaimed sadly.
– The earth is not ready, Isidora. I already told you this...
– Well, perhaps it will never be ready... And someday, in about a thousand years, when you look at it from your “tops”, you will see only an empty field, perhaps even overgrown with beautiful flowers, because that at this time there will be no more people on Earth, and there will be no one to pick these flowers... Think, North, is this the future you wished for the Earth?!..
But the North was protected by a blank wall of faith in what it said... Apparently, they all firmly believed that they were right. Or someone once instilled this faith in their souls so firmly that they carried it through centuries, without opening up and not allowing anyone into their hearts... And I couldn’t break through it, no matter how hard I tried.
– There are few of us, Isidora. And if we intervene, it is possible that we will also die... And then it will be as easy as shelling pears even for a weak person, not to mention someone like Caraffa, to take advantage of everything we keep. And someone will have power over all living things. This happened once before... A very long time ago. The world almost died then. Therefore, forgive me, but we will not interfere, Isidora, we have no right to do this... Our Great Ancestors bequeathed to us to protect ancient KNOWLEDGE. And that's what we're here for. What do we live for? We didn't even save Christ once... Although we could have. But we all loved him very much.
– Do you want to say that one of you knew Christ?!.. But that was so long ago!.. Even you cannot live that long!
“Why – a long time ago, Isidora?” Sever was sincerely surprised. “That was only a few hundred ago!” But we live much longer, you know. How could you live if you wanted...
– Several hundred?!!! – North nodded. – But what about the legend?!.. After all, according to it, already one and a half thousand years have passed since his death?!..
- That’s why she is a “legend”... - Sever shrugged, - After all, if she were the Truth, she wouldn’t need the custom-made “fantasies” of Paul, Matthew, Peter and the like?.. With all that, that these “holy” people had never even seen the living Christ! And he never taught them. History repeats itself, Isidora... It was so, and it will always be so until people finally begin to think for themselves. And while Dark Minds think for them, only struggle will always rule on Earth...
North fell silent, as if deciding whether to continue. But, after thinking a little, he nevertheless spoke again...
– “Thinking Dark Ones” from time to time give humanity a new God, always choosing him from the best, the brightest and the purest... but precisely those who are definitely no longer in the Circle of the Living. Because, you see, it is much easier to “dress” a dead person with a false “story of his Life” and release it into the world, so that it brings to humanity only what is “approved” by the “Thinking Dark Ones,” forcing people to plunge even deeper into the ignorance of the Mind , swaddling their Souls more and more into the fear of inevitable death, and thereby putting shackles on their free and proud Life...
– Who are the Thinking Dark Ones, North? – I couldn’t stand it.
– This is the Dark Circle, which includes “gray” Magi, “black” magicians, money geniuses (their own for each new period of time), and much more. Simply, it is the Earthly (and not only) unification of “dark” forces.
